My sisters are so trendy. They know what's in and what's not. Even their blogs look impressive! I think I'm getting too old for this shit. I already have the makings of an Ah Pek; the grey hair, hawker aunties calling me unkle, my clothes look shabby. Die lar...

Speaking of clothes, I really really hate skinny jeans. In fact, I hate them so much I hate whoever's wearing them! I just don't get it! What's so fashionable about them? Are they comfy? They sure don't look comfy to me! So why wear them? And the other thing is that it's like telling the whole world "Look at me! i'm wearing skinny jeans! I got skinny legs and skinny thighs... they're skinnier than my girlfriend's thighs... they so skinny that skinny's not a skinny enough word to decribe how skinny they are...."

Crap.

Total Utter Crap.

It is disappointing how this is the same band that gave us Boy, Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, has either lost its touch, or simply too chicken to push new boundaries. After Achtung Baby, U2 reached a low with Pop, which I feel still had a couple of decent good songs. At least with Pop, U2 was trying new things.

Ever since then, they've just to sticking what works. ATYCLB was a breath of fresh air for me after Pop, thinking that they got their act back together. HTDAAB was boring for me; Vertigo is good, but not great. And now this crap. 3 albums back to back have not once shown anything that puts U2 on the forefront of rock. It's just marketing gimmicks, hype and deaf fans who tell you how great their music is. I'd say they were good. Now, they are disappointing. I don't really care if they are coming this way for tour or not.

So much for the greatest rock band on earth. Pfft!

As the year comes to an end, I find myself reflecting a couple of random things. First up is my resolution for 2008. For the first time I gave myself a resolution that is actually quantifiable, hence I'm quite proud to say that I have achieved 92% of what I resolved to do this year. Next year, I will aim to hit 100%, which also happens to be my motto at work!

The second random thought today was a list of places I have to go visit:
1) The new 7 wonders of the world.
2) Visiting all 4 Grand Slam tournaments.

So that's a total of 11 places to visit, so far I've only managed to visit 1, which is the AO. So 10 more places to go visit!

Next list is quite a sensitive issue. I was wondering to myself if there has been anyone that I actually do care about. When I say this, I mean people that I do really really love, think about all the time. When I started making a list, it came out really short, much shorter than I expected.

Surprisingly, all of them are girls! I suppose the Tigers would be next on the list as well after these 5. It makes me wonder what kind of person I am, am I so devoid of feelings? There is another person on this list too, but I never had a proper chance to actually develop anything, so I can't say for sure she's someone I do care about. But I do think of her every now and then, wondering about what ifs. And when I think about her, I feel like a moth flying towards a flame. I can't help it, the attraction was and still is really strong.

The last thing I thought about was about my past relationships, specifically what I have learned from each experience.
1) Nothing, except that women can be really petty and evil.
2) Accepting the idea that no one is perfect, myself included, and I have to live with it.
3) Love
4) The importance of savings.

With that, I'd like to wish myself and to all the people I know past, present and future a very happy new year.

I'm so amused/annoyed by this that I had to write it down somewhere. Someone just posted an album on facebook showing how she celebrated her birthday. Guess what? The title of her album is "My Birthday is 18th August 1981". Wassup with that???????? That's like putting a sticker of my face on the bonnet of my car, and I mean a REALLY big sticker...

On 2nd thoughts, she's probably the attention seeker sort, I reckon she probably takes pictures of whatever she's doing every weekend and posts it, just to show ppl she's got a real EXCITING LIFE!!! Ppl like that should wear a siren on their head, then everyone will give her some form of attention. And if no one notices her, the siren can just go off! You can't escape it! Beautiful!!!!

I hate those trolley beds they make you lie down. The steely frame is cold to the touch and makes me cringe when I'm lying down.

I hate the waiting. You wait an hour just to be examined and then another hour for a bloody scan. When you taking the scan, you wait a good 5 minutes for the machine to warm up and it takes 10 seconds for the machine to do its thing.

I kinda like hospital food. Bland, miserly servings... but it's all good. I know its healthy and somehow I wished that eating those food would make me slimmer.

I like the attention I got. Friends and family coming down and visiting me, even though explaining it over and over again can get very tiring.

I like the fact that I can't smoke in there. So I've been forced to stop for the last 2 days. Let's hope this keeps up!

I was with my ex-boss and a colleague a couple weeks ago. We met up for drinks and did some catching up. What struck me was when he asked me what were the things that I want to do in my life. I'm not talking just about achievements and stuff like that, but just things that I've always wanted to do but haven't gotten around to doing them. So here goes the list so far:

1) Bungee. It's the 1st thing that occured to me.
2) Visit the 7 wonders. So far I've seen the Pyramids, only 6 more to go!

So yea, that's it. Not a terribly long list, but I guess it's a start. Maybe I'll come up with more things as time goes by.

Speaking of love, I don't think I regret for a single moment for all that has happened to me. It's not a big deal, I know. But it's important enough to shape me to be the man that I am. I know you're reading this, so I'm saying this again: if you love him, go for it with all your heart, even if you know you'll get hurt, because All You Need is Love! Very John Lennon huh?

I'm planning on a holiday! At long last!!! Ok I'm going to beautiful Maritius!!! Yay! Haven't really planned anything yet, so better get started soon. I'm so looking forward to this... And after Mauritius, I'm going to Cambodia!!! And Melbourne after that!!!

I was out with J since christmas I think and it's been almost a year since I decided to start seeing her again. It's been a good break, and a good long period of time for me to think about stuff, particularly learn how to pick up bullshit from her and throw it back at her face. I think I'm going to enjoy her company more often. heh...

Anyway, I learnt of her recent 'activities' and I must say sometimes shit happens and love gets the better of us. Quite insightful that night as she confided in me as I tried to recollect how I felt, given a similar situation a couple years back. In the end, she thanked me and commented how coincidentally I came back into her life when the last guy just made his egress, and how I was a pillar of strength for her, which was ... weird for me. The thing about us is that yes we're friends, but it's a strange friendship. We flirt with each other occasionally and it's quite fun! I do think we're both attracted to each other to a certain level, but something's just holding us back. I keep thinking that I should do the right thing and avoid getting slapped! We would make a good couple, i think; I have my own life and she her hers. We're only doing this because it enhances our lifestyles, as I said these words to her about why we (people) should even get into a relationship.

End of the day, everyone's glad to be going back!

Overall, the trip was fun and exciting for many of us. For me, it was exhilarating to be on the trail again and I'm quite glad I didn't fall or break anything. Unfortunately, the group was too big for the more seasoned riders to fully enjoy the outing. 18 people was probably too ambitious, next time we'll go as Team GOCC and Bokata, it should be MORE TIRING and MORE FUN!!! And once in a while, have some newbies to lighten up the mood.

It's been almost a week since I got back. I got some belated birthday gifts (better late than never, yea!), almost recovered from my jetlag, still treating my sprained wrist and ankle, abd of course the much awaited pile of mess on my desk for me to clean up. To my horror my pens have been stolen, my calendar and hole puncher thingy is gone. Surprisingly the thief decided not to steal my stapler, calculator and some of my more precious stationery. Oooh what a cheery week it's been!

We just got a new transfer guy over from retail and he's taking over India after I turned down my boss's offer to take over the market. I shall call him Shaolin because his name is too hard to pronounce for me. Initially I had no opinions about him until I heard him speak... he's got a fake aussie accent. I can't even being to imitate him because it just annoys me so badly that it gives me a headache when I hear him talk. Sigh, why do these people do it? As Marc puts it 'does he not realise that he's in a room full of overseas grads and at least 4 from Australia?' Starting tomorrow, I shall talk to him in either cantonese or mandarin and force him down to my (O) level!!! *snigger*

Maybe I should be kind to him instead. It's Friday afterall tomorrow. I could start my chinese campaign on Monday... Yea I shouldn't ruin my Friday. I have such an exciting weekend planned out already. I'm watching Forbidden City tomorrow, GOCC - Ubin Assault on Saturday, and going car shopping with Larry on Sunday. Yay! I can smell my Swift Sport very very soon!!! heheheheeh!

Now Erik was devastated and went mad. He could not bear the though of his beloved leaving him for a bald man. "I have more hair than him! What is it that he has that I don't!" Erik cried out. With a hairy sense of determination, Erik decide to win Moira over.

The contest between the 2 men began and Moira still clung on to X, stubborn as ever, refusing to return back to Erik. However, the battle between them got more and more heated, fearing for her own safety, Moira ran away to get away from the 2 men. Later she checked into Lee hotel, where she could have her own space and finally some time to think about what she really wants.

In the hotel she made friends and met up with some old ones. She confided in them about her problems and pretty soon she felt quite comfortable staying in the hotel. During this time, the fight for Moira came to a standstill as both men realised that their prize was gone. Both sought after Moira, but the hotel was too far for them. Neither men had any cars nor horses to get to the hotel.

Erik decided to find means and ways to find transportation to get to the hotel while X decided to send love letters to Moira. While the love letters did keep the love alive, but sometimes love just isn't enough. Moira was getting lonely although the love letters from X did keep the love alive...

Then Moira got news that Erik was on his way to the hotel! Apparently, he managed to get his hands on a three legged camel and was making his way to Moira. Moira patiently waits and wonders about her future with X, if Erik's arrival would jeopardise her happiness.

An hour of my thoughts...

I thought about what Mare and Grace said about how they expected me to end up working at Sim Lim selling playstations or something similar.

I wondered what in the world happened to me that got me so interested in my work that I'm getting labelled as a workaholic.

What am I doing after work tomorrow?

Work.

Just read Jean's blog, I wonder what's gotten into her.

I think this entry is pointless.

I'm happy for Mare, and that the idea of the sanctity of marriage still exists in some of us, in the best of us. I wish her and Tjerk all the very best, I'm truly truly happy for her.

Good thing the lava lamp wasn't connected to the socket, if not, bye bye cruel world!
